Who We Are

R. A. Benedict Sales Co. is Andy Benedict and Dan Timmerman providing professional, conscientious representation of manufacturers to the HVAC wholesale distribution market in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky.  Andy and Dan offer manufacturers and distributors over 50 combined years of industry experience in managing territories, calling on, and training HVAC distributors and dealers. Andy and Dan are proud to be a small agency providing personal attention to each of their customers and manufacturers.  At  R. A. Benedict Sales you always deal directly with one of the owners.

Our History

In 1973 Robert A. (Bob) Benedict founded R. A. Benedict Sales Company as a new manufacturers representative agency to HVAC, Plumbing and Fireplace Wholesalers in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Bob began his new business venture literally from scratch and without any product lines. He simply began calling on those who would become his future customers with one thing to sell: himself. By introducing himself throughout the territory and letting wholesalers know he’d be back around the next month, Bob began establishing himself as a representative that distributors could depend on. Through that accountability and relationship building, Bob began attracting manufacturers to represent and distributors started recommending Bob for product lines. From those humble beginnings Bob created a successful agency… and his legacy continues today.

In 1991 Bob brought his son Andy into the agency with him, followed by Dan Timmerman in 1994. We at  R. A. Benedict Sales are proud of our agency’s heritage. We are especially proud that the average tenure with our manufacturers is over 21 years!

Andy Benedict

Andy, a graduate of West Virginia University with a B.A. in Psychology and a M.S. in Sports Psychology, began in the agency with his father in 1991 after working in sales for the Pennysaver and Progressive Marketing Services.  Andy has developed strong relationships with distributors and dealers in Northeastern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  Andy lives in Greensburg, PA not far from where he grew up in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Dan Timmerman

Dan, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Marketing, began in the industry as a regional sales manager with Newtron Products in 1989 after a decade of management experience in the entertainment and the restaurant industry.  Dan came on board at the invite of Andy’s father in 1994 and has developed strong relationships with distributors and dealers in Western and Southeastern Ohio as well as Kentucky.  Dan was born and lives in the greater Cincinnati, OH area.  Dan has been married to his wife Jennifer for 34 years, together they have 3 sons.
